Vandelux is the alter-ego of Evan White – jazz drummer, guitarist and pianist from Vancouver, Canada. His interest in electronic music developed in high school after piecing together a makeshift recording studio from garage sale audio equipment and a hacked version of Fruityloops Pro. After years of closet compositions, Evan began sharing his music with the world in 2016, crossing multiple genres and showing no signs of slowing down. Past and current collaborations include My Bear Mountain, THEY. and Marc7 of Jurassic 5. His style has been compared to the likes of Chet Faker, Bob Moses, RJD2, Big Wild and Pretty Lights.
“Bright Lights” hit #1 on the Hype Machine Popular chart and was added to both the Germany Viral 50 at #12 and The Netherlands Viral 50 at #15 Spotify charts. Vandelux both sings and writes the lyrics and music of “Bright Lights”: „I don’t typically like to use my own lyrics so this was a bit of an experiment“, he says. „My original intention was to keep the track super mellow from start to finish but I ended up with some pretty gritty synths that worked well in the breakdowns“. Music like this sounds like bliss.
