Bright Minded Live with Miley Cyrus: #HighlightingHeroes: Branden Harvey, Xiuhtezcatl – Episode 20

Today, Miley welcomed activist and hip hop artist, Xiuhtezcatl “X” Martinez and Branden Harvey, Founder of Good Good Good to “Bright Minded” for its final show to discuss how COVID-19 has shined a light on long standing issues within our country and what each of us can do to make a difference.

Good Good Good is a media company focused on spreading the good news in the world. Their mission “is to help people feel less overwhelmed and more quipped to make a meaningful difference.” Branden reminded viewers that there are always people doing good and that each person can make a small difference during this pandemic – whether you are staying home and social distancing, finding creative ways to make masks, or fostering a pet. He also stressed the importance of taking care of yourself in order to take care of others. Branden suggests celebrating the good news and the small victories so you do not feel overwhelmed all the time.

Xiuhtezcatl “X” Martinez is using his voice for change through multiple creative outlets and platforms. He encourages viewers to respond, not react – he explained, response comes from a place of knowing and treating the issue. We have to recognize and understand the impact this pandemic is having on everyone in the country in order to advise on how to rebuild and get back on our feet following the COVID-19 pandemic. Martinez emphasized the important of ‘people power’ and the idea of coming together in this time of physical separation to fight for what we believe in.

Miley concluded the show by encouraging her viewers to keep celebrating their heroes and fighting for what they believe in while reminding them to stay “Bright Minded”.
